Warning Signs to Watch Out For

People with diabetes should pay close attention to any changes in their feet, as even minor problems can develop into serious complications if not detected early.

Changes in Skin Colour: If the skin on your feet becomes red, pale or blue, it may indicate poor circulation or another serious problem. Seek medical attention immediately, particularly if the change is sudden.

Dry or Cracked Skin: Dry, cracked skin can increase the risk of infection. Use a suitable moisturising cream regularly to keep your skin healthy, but avoid applying it between your toes.

Pain and Cramps: If you experience pain or cramps in your feet or legs, this could be a sign of poor circulation or nerve damage. Do not ignore these symptoms.

Blisters and Non-Healing Wounds: Any blister, cut or ulcer that does not heal properly should be assessed promptly by a healthcare professional to help prevent serious complications.
